Thursday, Nov 13th I have the pleasure of reconnecting with my very talent (and Juno award winning) friend Jenny Whiteley. Yes, from Ontario music royalty…her pops is Chris, uncle Ken, cousin Ben and brother Dan. Jenny writes fabulous stories into her well crafted songs. With plenty of bluegrass vibes, gorgeous harmonies and loads of fun …check out this new project with debut released in May 2025 as LeVolume…hope to CU!!

So looking forward to joining Jenny and gang for a double bill at Vancouver's Rogue Folk Club in Kits. Ill be sharing my songs as a Quartet that night with Simon Kendall on keys, Eric Reed on guitar, banjo and mandolin and Rob Beck on bass.
Saturday, Nov 15th we will join forces again for a double bill at St. Bart's in Gibsons. My line-up may shift slightly to the Tree-O or perhaps a special guest will join us :)
LeVOLUME
LeVolume is the new and exciting project by 2X JUNO winner and 5X nominee Jenny Whiteley, Julian Brown (Apostle of Hustle) and Joey Wright (multi-instrumentalist/composer). Brought together by their love of the letter J, the trio soon found they had a lot in common musically, as well!
LeVolume’s self-titled, bilingual debut double-album was released in May, and the group is hitting the road to celebrate.
LeVolume writes their original songs in both English and French, while also interpreting and translating songs by such luminaries as Doug Paisley, Jesse Winchester and Carolyn Mark.
LeVolume’s music features the rich strumming of acoustic guitars, the bright tinkling of mandolins and ethereal vocals with loads of harmonies strewn throughout. The result is a rich yet light, folk-not-folk, bubbly yet heavy concoction that is sure to intoxicate its listeners. LeVolume takes the music seriously, but not themselves, just like Fleetwood Mac, except without the drums, bass, piano, cocaine and infidelity. They’re also funny.
Having performed and recorded with a list of Canadian royalty too long to include here…ok, ok, we’ll include a few: Feist, Sarah Harmer, Amy Millan, Stars, Apostle Of Hustle, Ron Hynes, all the Whiteleys…you can bet these folks know what they’re doing in the studio and on stage! Along with the “fourth J” - Jason Mercer (Ani DiFranco, Ron Sexsmith, Rick Moranis) at the controls in Neptune’s Machine Studio on Wolfe Island, Ontario, LeVolume has created what is already being called "a modern masterpiece, or at least your new favourite Canadian dock-folk.” by fictional A&R man, J. J. Taylor.
LeVolume call it Glitterfolk, and you’ll know why when you hear it. Don't miss these musicians' joyful and harmony-filled performance, setting the world on fire, one heart at a time in both official languages.
Their motto? "Let's have fun!"
